Medical detox

Medically supervised alcohol and drug detox

Detox is the first step. Our nursing professionals supervise withdrawal so it is as safe and comfortable as possible, and a doctor sees every client on admission.

Withdrawal can be risky. It shouldn't be done alone.

Stopping alcohol or drugs suddenly can cause withdrawal symptoms ranging from anxiety, shaking and sleeplessness to, in some cases, dangerous complications. Our nursing professionals give close attention throughout detox and prioritise each client's safety and comfort.

The registration fee of R3,320 includes a doctor's consultation, so every client is assessed medically on arrival.

A safe detox lays a stable foundation. From there, clients move straight into the primary programme on the same site, without a gap in care.

About detox

Is it safe to detox at home?

Withdrawal from alcohol and some drugs, such as sedatives and opioids, can be dangerous without medical supervision. Talk to a doctor or to our admissions team before stopping suddenly.

Do you offer detox?

Yes. Detox is medically supervised by our nursing professionals, and a doctor’s consultation is included in the registration fee. Withdrawal is managed so it is as safe and comfortable as possible before therapy begins.

What happens after detox?

Detox treats the body. The primary programme that follows treats the addiction itself, through therapy, the 12 Step programme and life skills.

Do you accept medical aid?

Most medical aids are accepted. Send us your scheme and plan details and we will confirm cover and the medical aid rate before admission.
