Alcohol rehab with medically supervised detox
Stopping drinking safely starts with a supervised detox. From there, a structured programme helps you understand why you drink and build a life that doesn't revolve around it.
Signs that drinking has become a problem
If several of these sound familiar, it's worth a confidential conversation with our admissions team.
- Needing a drink to get through the day, or to sleep
- Trying to cut down or stop, and not managing
- Shaking, sweating, nausea or anxiety when not drinking
- Needing more alcohol to get the same effect
- Hiding how much you drink from family or friends
- Drinking causing problems at work, at home or with money
After heavy, daily drinking, stopping suddenly can be dangerous. Get medical advice before you stop, or call us to arrange a supervised detox.

Common questions
How long is alcohol rehab?
The primary programme runs from 28 days to 3 months, after a supervised detox. A longer secondary programme of around 6 months is recommended for lasting recovery.
Is alcohol detox done on site?
Yes. Alcohol detox is supervised by our nursing professionals at Aloe Valley, and a doctor sees every client on admission.
Do you accept medical aid?
Most medical aids are accepted. Send us your scheme and plan details and we will confirm cover and the medical aid rate before admission.
What if my loved one refuses to go to rehab?
This is very common. Talk to our admissions team before you talk to them. We can help you plan the conversation, choose a calm moment when they are sober, and be ready with a firm date and a bed so the decision can be acted on straight away.
